Havana Club 7 Años

FLAGSHIP DESIGN REVAMP

Client: Pernod Ricard. Paris, France.

Role: Structural design direction, packaging artwork, storytelling.

Skills: Conceptualization, type and visual design, photography, graphic production, client presentation.

Considered the epitome of Cuban rum, the iconic Havana Club 7 Años has been awarded by prestigious experts. I was invited to the team responsible for the packaging revamp and bottle redesign to celebrate the brand’s 130th anniversary.

The label tells the story of the Maestro Ronero, the guardian of aged rum and its secrets. This story of refinement was engraved with calligraphy surrounding the Havana Club shield.

This new design features the man who embodies the art of Havana Club and his personal touch, his signature is proudly engraved on the capsule. Redefining the bottle allowed me to assign a specific place for every element, like the Cuban tax-stamp.

A series of different canisters were proposed for this commemorative edition, the final design was deployed internationally during 5 years after launching in Spain and stayed in the market for 7 years.

Customized colors, hot-stamping, and varnishes complete a high quality product experience that reflects the Havana Club’s brand promise.
